Bamboo bioproducts

Building a sustainable industry from the ground up

A Caribbean venture working to build a sustainable, scalable bamboo industry.

Overview

Bamboo Bioproducts (BBP) is building the Caribbean's first bamboo pulp mill; transforming underused sugarcane lands in western Jamaica into a sustainable bamboo industry. By producing bamboo pulp for the global tissue and personal hygiene market, the venture creates economic opportunities for local communities while reducing reliance on wood fibre and supporting a more circular, sustainable economy.

Our approach

We provide advisory across community engagement and programme development; helping align commercial operations with social impact.

Research & impact studies

We conducted in-depth research to understand the potential impact of the industry on local communities, and provided impact management strategies towards an inclusive ecosystem.

We built strategic partnerships across the value chain to strengthen capacity, share knowledge and drive collective progress.

Partnerships

Our outcome

Progress towards an industry model in which the farmers and workers participate in the value being built, not only the investors.
